How
does it work? |

Basically,
remote backups work like regular tape backups,
with one important difference. Instead of
sending backups to a tape drive or other
media attached to the computer being backed
up, a remote backup sends encrypted file
data over the internet to a computer file
storage system safely offsite. You install
our Remote Backup Software on your computer
or server. You specify the files you want
backed up and when (usually at night). Our
software starts by itself at the specified
time and backs up your data and then sends
it to our backup server over the internet.
All of this is done automatically. |

I have confidential
files I don't want anyone to see. How do I
know my data is safe? |

Our
software uses Secure Encryption, up to 448
bit, (one of the most secure encryption
methods in the world) and encrypts your
data before it uploads to our server. You
enter an encryption password into the software.
No one can view your data without that password.
Not even us. If you are a medical facility

How do I know
how much data I have to backup? |

can help you determine this. When you select
files for backup you will only select the
data that would be considered unrecoverable.
You do not backup your program files as
you can easily purchase these if necessary
plus they can take up a lot of space. Our
Backup Software provides an Estimator function
that will tell you the total of files and
space you have selected before backing up. |

How long does
a backup take? |
| |
This
can vary and is determined by the amount
of data to backup and your internet connection.
The very first backup can take awhile, but
subsequent backups will take a much shorter
time as the software will only need to backup
files that have change or have been updated.
With a broadband connection subsequent backup
sessions usually will take less than an
hour. |

I need to restore
my data. What do I do? |

Restoring
your data is just as easy as backing up.
Our backup software will display all the
files that have been backed up and you simply
select the file or files you would like
to restore. You can even specify where to
restore them. The software will restore
the current version of your files unless
you want to select a prior version. The
files are downloaded back to your computer
and you are back in business. |
